Being the central cooperation of Bavarian dairies, the Bayerische Milchindustrie eG plays a major role in the German dairy industry. Our expertise in producing powder products, cheese and fresh dairy products constitutes the foundation for our partnership with dairies, food industry and food trade.

Processing milk and whey into value-added products is central to our operations. With its efficient research and decade of experience in high-tech production processes, BMI offers excellent tailor-made components for the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry.

Another major product line is the production of hard cheese, semi-hard cheese and blue cheese.

Our high quality standards have earned BMI an outstanding market position all over the world. More than a third of our products are exported.

 

Our concept

Decentralized production allows us to minimize the distances for our raw material milk, which is transported directly from the farms to the dairies. This is gentle to the valuable raw material, reduces transportation costs and makes an important contribution for protecting the environment.
