The BMI-Group

The production area of BMI is structured in three business divisions: dry products, fresh products/cheese and dairies.

The factories Zapfendorf, Winzer, Landshut, Peiting and Jessen are producing powders for the business unit dry products. Each factory is specialised on a certain production area.
Furthermore, the high concentrator for whey in Nove Mestro in Slowakia is part of this unit.

The business division fresh dairy products/cheese includes our dairy in Zapfendorf as well as our cheese factories in Windsbach and Ebermannstadt. Further on, the Lacrum s.r.o. in Velké Mezirící in the Czech Republik and since December 2002 the cheese factory in Langenfeld are allocated to this unit.

The dairy in Tirschenreuth has been leased by the Bayerische Milchindustrie since July 2002. It serves BMI as an intern raw material re-loading point.
The Elsterland GmbH in Jessen, is a joint venture of BMI and Humana Milchunion eG. In this factory semi-hard cheese, hard cheese and UHT-cream is produced.

Our subsidiary Peri SRL in Bozen is our sales office for the important Italian market. The Astrom spol. s.r.o. in Prague coordinates the raw material acquisition (whey) and the sales of our dry products in the Eastern European and the CIS countries. The Scarlatti GmbH in Bern, our trade agency for cheese, is our partner for customers in Southern Europe.
